More North is a gallery and store in Tribeca that sells Scandinavian and Icelandic art, furniture, design objects and childrens products. Their designers include Arne Jacobsen, Alvar Aalto, Eero Saarinen and Fritz Hansen.
Working closely with architects Adam Weintraub and Mishi Hosono of Koko Architecture, we worked towards setting a tone that was appropriately serious enough for a gallery and lively enough for a retail space. The program included: identity, gift packaging, stationery, invitations, in-store signage, gift cards, and merchandising.
“‘It’s a Nordic setting transplanted to the middle of New York,’ Adam Weintraub explains. The gallery’s three owners are also trustees of the American-Scandinavian Foundation, and the 3,800-square-foot bi-level space is a manifestation of their interest in design and art from their native countries and love for children of all nationalities.”—Interior Design Magazine
